My new acquaintance has told, that it is forbidden to owners of houses to reconstruct them, to change architecture - all should remain, as before, in far 1572. As indemnification the state incurs a part of expenses on repair of buildings as all of them are included in the list of historical monuments.
But one dramatic change in a city nevertheless has occurred. Then, more four centuries ago, gyozy profits in the sea Brille. As it was strange not to see here the sea, one of the main characters of those far events, and to know, that it is now in 30 kilometres from Brille!
Here the sea for four centuries "is how much pressed"!
Removing a coastal line, Netherlanders simultaneously separate shallow zones and sites of a land filled in during inflow from the sea. On these earlier badlands there are settlements, fields, farms, parks. Similar work proceeds and until now. For some centuries of development of the sites of the earth won from the sea Dutches have managed to increase a country useful area almost by 20 percent. Hardly there will be in the world still any country, for which most changeable characteristic there would be sizes of its territory. So, the area of the Netherlands (in thousand square kilometres) in 1950 made 32,4, in 1972 - 36,6, in 1980-37,5, and in 1989-39,1.
On the high cape pressing far in a gulf, small, directly toy small town Urk is located. All in it is be church, both hotel, and the port with repair dock, and quay, and on it at any time year you will see small groups of old men and at once will understand, that all of them in the past fishermen. Will understand on a characteristic suit, on an invariable pipe.
Once this fishing small town has been located on island in Zejderze. Nowadays, in connection with drainage of a gulf and creation enormous Northeast poldera, Urk it has appeared firmly adhered to continent.
We went in Urk from Amsterdam almost two hours, went on a motor vehicle. But still about twenty years ago, to make such travel, it was necessary to take advantage of the ferry or a sea vessel.
